President leaves Tehran for 2-nation African tour

IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad started a three-day official visit to Zimbabwe and Uganda on Thursday.

He will be heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation.

On the first leg of his two-nation tour, President Ahmadinejad is to arrive in Harare, Zimbabwe. The Iranian delegation will head for Kampala, Uganda, afterwards.

President Ahmadinejad three-day tour is being made upon invitation from his Zimbabwean and Ugandan counterparts Robert Mugabe and Yoweri Kaguta Museveni respectively.

President Ahmadinejad is scheduled to meet his Zimbabwean and Ugandan counterparts and discuss major bilateral, regional and international developments.

A number of agreements on trade cooperation are expected to be signed during President Ahmadinejad’s two-nation tour.
