Talking to IRNA, he said that Muslims of the whole world should be proud of a great leader like Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Revolution.
"Imam Khomeini is a leader who needs no introduction, he defeated the dictatorship in Iran with his determination", said the religious scholar.
Syed Azhar Bukhari stated that Imam Khomeini has constantly been a source of inspiration for the Muslim all over the world. “Imam Khomeini gave a true concept of Islam”, he added.
He viewed that Imam Khomeini gave his entire life to the Revolution and that is why people respect him.
Syed Azhar Bukhari noted that it was because of the struggle of Imam Khomeini that Iranian nation achieved its destiny.
He congratulated the people of Iran and their government for upholding the torch of Imam Khomeini. “Imam Khomeini should be given credit for his great services for Islam”, said the intellectual.
Syed Azhar Bukhari expressing his views said Imam Khomeini with his courage had responded well to all anti Islam moves of west. “He ignited the fervor and enthusiasm of Iranian Muslims and taught them not to compromise their religious identity at any cost”, he was of the opinion.
“Islamization had actually started from Iran, there is no doubt about that”, he believed.
The religious scholar added that Imam Khomeini had emphasized on importance of humanity which is the true spirit of Islam.
Syed Azhar Bukhari opined that today Muslims are weak because they are not following teachings of great Imam Khomeini.
Highlighting the importance of Pakistan-Iran relations, the religious scholar said that both countries have a long history of cordial and friendly relations and the history of Pak–Iran relations goes back to the earliest days of Pakistan’s independence.
Syed Azhar Bukhari said Iran is a respectful country and Pakistan always gives importance to its relations with Iran. “People of Pakistan love Iranian nation”, he said.
He was optimistic that Pakistan-Iran relations would improve further in future.
He viewed that both Iran and Pakistan are very strong Muslim countries and can play a significant role in solving the issues of the region.
