Tullow Oil has joined Katalemwa Cheshire Homes in raising funds for children with disabilities in Uganda. A last week Tullow sponsored show in Kampala that raised close to Shs30 million, marked the start of a relationship with the child care centre that seeks to improve the welfare of disabled children.
Mr Brian Glover, the Tullow general manager, said the company’s decision to get involved is part of its commitment to support environments within which the company operates.
The oil explorers’ commitment come as the centre celebrates 40 years of child rehabilitation especially on matters related to disabilities. The initiative will been facilitated by a partnership that was entered by the Katalemwa home centre and Afro-Jazz musicians, Mr Richard Kaweesa and Mr Michael Ouma. The partnership seeks to raise donation from companies and individuals and towards the campaign.
