A Pro-Palestine conference has been held in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum to express support for al-Quds against the Israeli occupation, Press TV reports.

The al-Quds International Foundation in Sudan organized the gathering in Khartoum on Sunday.

Qotbi al-Mahdi, chairman of the foundation, addressed the conference, saying the subject of the city of al-Quds is the “core of the Palestinian issue.”

“Israel is hoping to fully control al-Quds and after that Palestine will only be a piece of land with no meaning,” Mahdi added.

A large number of people attended the Sunday conference to show their support for the Palestinian cause.

Mujtaba Suleiman, a member of the foundation, told Press TV that the aim of the conference is to “revive the Palestinian issue and get more support for the al-Aqsa mosque.”

“Sudanese are well-known in supporting the Palestinian issue,” Suleiman said.

Participants in the Khartoum conference on al-Quds called on all Islamic countries to cooperate and unite to stop the Israeli aggressions against al-Quds and Palestinians.
