ADDIS ABABA, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Former President of Nigeria and Chairman of the Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa (THLF), Olusegun Obasanjo call for the rest of the world to make efforts to know enough about Africa continent, which encompasses of youthful population, expanse of lands and resources.

Attending the 22nd World Economic Forum on Africa that is organized in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia by the World Economic Forum (WEF), Obasanjo said it during an interview with Xinhua.

Obasanjo said: "I think the most important aspect of this to me is that it brings Africa to the world and brings the world to Africa. And the more of that can be done, the better it is for both sides. The better it is for Africa and the better it is for the world. The world must know enough about this important part of the world which encompasses, almost closed to 20 percent of the world."

He said that every time has always been time for Africa. "The question is how much we can take advantage of this? I don't believe in slogan, I believe in action. And what we should be saying in that local, the opportunity we have we must grab it with our hands and take up the challenge and move on. Now if we are just starting slogan, time for Africa, century of Africa, and we do not do that we need to do it will be empty slogan," he noted.

He said:" Africa has to help itself first. We must be ready to help ourselves and then we will get hands from other people. But if we just shout on, stout to people to come and help us without ourselves showing that we are ready to help ourselves, again there is no real result we could get."
