20120710 Xinhua Sixteen people died and at least 30 others were injured in a traffic accident that occurred Monday evening near Morocco's southeastern city of Essaouira, security sources said.
The accident happened near Essaouira, some 300 km southeast of the Moroccan capital Rabat, and involved a coach coming from the tourist city of Agadir.
Some of the victims are foreigners, added the sources.
In another accident in the country Monday morning, 10 people were killed near the northern city of Nador when a coach overturned.
Over 4,000 people are killed and tens of thousands injured every year by traffic accidents in Morocco, according to official statistics.
