20120807 AP JOHANNESBURG (AP) — The head of the U.S. Export-Import Bank says the U.S. will offer South Africa a $2 billion loan for renewable energy ventures.
Fred Hochberg told journalists Monday at an event in Johannesburg the deal will be signed Tuesday with South African officials.
Hochberg said the 18-year loans could benefit companies like General Electric Co.
The loan comes during a visit to South Africa by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
