Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir has arrived in the Egypt’s capital city, Cairo, to hold talks with the Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi.
Bashir was welcomed by the Egyptian Vice President Mahmud Mekki at Cairo's airport on Sunday, AFP reported.
The Sudanese president is scheduled to hold talks with his Egyptian counterpart later today.
Bashir’s two-day visit to Egypt is his first since Morsi won the country’s June 16-17 run-off presidential election.
Both Sudan and Egypt have been the scene of protests against a US-made movie which insults the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
Five people have been killed in clashes outside the US Embassy in Sudan's capital Khartoum where protesters briefly scaled the US Embassy walls before they were expelled from the location.
On Friday, thousands of Sudanese protesters stormed the UK and German embassies in Khartoum where angry demonstrators set fire to German Embassy building and burnt both countries' flags.
The demonstrations against the movie in Cairo began on September 11 during which security forces scuffled with demonstrators and fired tear gas at the angry protesters.
Fresh clashes erupted on Saturday when police forces resorted to force to disperse protesters near the US embassy in Cairo.
Security forces also burned down a number of tents belonging to the protesters in the Liberation (Tahrir) Square.
The fresh protest came a day after police forces shot dead a protester and wounded dozens more during a demonstration against the blasphemous film near the US embassy in Cairo.
