Mogadishu — A Somali military officer says a night-time curfew was imposed and came into effect over night in Somalia's southern port city of Kismayo, a move that intended to stop sting of bombings and insecurity acts since Al shabab's withdrawal early this month.

Col. Mohamed Farah, the military officer told Shabelle Media Network that government forces along with Raskamboni militia have arrested dozens of people who showed defiant over the curfew imposed the city.

Kismayo, an important strategic port city in southern Somalia fell to Somali and AU forces at the beginning of this month following two-months of attacks that eventually forces Al shabab to flee, after ruling more than three years.
