The attack was carried out on Thursday morning when a US unmanned aerial vehicle fired missiles at an area near the region’s town of Bardera.
On October 14, a US assassination drone strike claimed the lives of at least 29 people near the Shalanbood region in Somalia’s Merka town.
The US military uses the remotely-controlled drones in Somalia for reconnaissance operations and targeted killings.
Washington has been carrying out assassination attacks using the unmanned aircraft in other countries, including Afghanistan, Libya, Pakistan, and Yemen.
The United States claims the CIA-launched strikes are meant to target militants. But witness reports and figures, offered by local authorities, indicate that the attacks have led to massive civilian deaths. Press TV
