An explosion occurred late Tuesday night at an ammunition factory in south of Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, causing huge fire and sending plumes of smoke into the sky, the official Sudanese Radio reported.
Witnesses said, at first a fire in the depot caused the explosion, which later led to greater fire and minor blasts.
According to the radio, which quoted a local official, the fire has lasted for about half an hour before being put out by firefighters.
Some workers in the factory and residents nearby were injured in the incident, the report said, without elaboration.
