U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton began Monday morning a working visit to Algeria, the official APS news agency reported.
The U.S. top diplomat was welcomed upon her arrival at Algiers' Houari Boumediene international airport by Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci.
Clinton's visit comes shortly after the first session of Algerian-U.S. strategic dialogue, which was held on Oct. 19 in Washington and gave a remarkable impetus to the political consultation between the two countries, said the report.
During her stay in Algiers, Clinton will focus on strengthening economic and security partnership between the two countries as well as regional and international issues.
Clinton's last visit to Algiers was on Feb. 25, as part of her tour in the Maghreb region.
