Spokesman for a Salafist Jihadist group Bilel Chaouachi was arrested by Tunisian police on Tuesday, Radio Mosaique FM reported.
According to an interior ministry spokesman, Chaouachi's arrest had no connection with his participation on Monday to a televised program on Ettounissia, a private TV channel, but rather for his alleged involvement in the U.S. embassy attack on September 14.
He was arrested on the charge of "inciting violence".
About 150 religious extremists have been arrested in relation with the U.S. embassy attack in Tunis, as well as other incidents, including the attack on an art gallery in August, the country's justice minister Noureddine Bhiri told Shems FM on Tuesday.
Bhiri dismissed figures released by some Tunisian media earlier that some 900 people had been arrested.
