The Nigerian security troops on Tuesday said they killed four Boko Haram members in their hideout after a raid in a small community in the nation's northeast state of Yobe.

Lt Lazarus Eli, spokesman of the military Joint Task Force (JTF) said the four sect members were gun down following a raid at their hideout at Gashua town, Yobe State in the early hours of Tuesday.

"During the raid of the sect's hideouts, some arms and ammunitions including three AK 47 rifles and 42 rounds of ammunition were discovered," Lt. Eli said.

According to him, the security forces stormed the hideout at about 5 a.m. local time on Tuesday following intelligent report that some of the terrorists suspected to have carried out Potiskum and Fika attacks had settled at Gashua for another planned attacks. "During JTF raid which was initially faced with resistances from the terrorists, our men overcome their resistance with superior fire-power and killed four suspects with the arrests of four other suspects," he added.

Yobe State located in Nigeria's northeastern region is a Boko Haram flashpoint, where the Nigerian government had declared and lifted some curfews due to wave of attacks.
