Hundreds of Tunisians demonstrated on Saturday in the capital Tunis against the ongoing Israel's attacks on Gaza, local media reported.
The demonstrators, from the General Tunisian Labor Union and its seven affiliated unions, chanted anti-Israeli slogans and waved banners in solidarity with the people of Gaza, while moving from the Union headquarters to the interior ministry.
Civil society activists as well as members of some political parties also joined the march.
Other protesters called for banning the normal relations with Israel to be enshrined in the country's new constitution.
An impressive police presence is in place to prevent an escalation, as similar demonstrations are also reported on Saturday in Sfax and Jendouba.
