Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zaidan on Sunday officially took over power from his predecessor Abdul al- Raheem al-Keeb.
At a ceremony held at the Prime Minister's Office in the capital Tripoli, al-Keeb handed over power to Zaidan, head of Libya's transitional government, in the presence of the members of the new and former cabinets.
Zaidan said that the ceremony is a clear message to the Libyan people and to the world that Libya is heading towards consolidation.
On Wednesday, Libya's newly-formed government was sworn in, with some ministers, either questioned by discipline authority or under investigation, absent at the oath-taking ceremony.
