The government of Cameroon, which attaches great importance to the relations with China, will firmly deepen cooperation with China in order to achieve new development of the bilateral ties, said Cameroon President Paul Biya on Friday.

He made the remarks when accepting the credentials from the new Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon Wo Ruidi, who arrived in Yaounde on Sept. 1 to take up his post.

Biya welcomed the new Chinese ambassador. He spoke highly of the great achievements China has made in the last three decades under the policies of reform and opening up, while expressed his gratitude for the important support China has offered to Cameroon.

Wo said China is willing to be a sincere and reliable partner of Cameroon. As the new ambassador to Cameroon, he said, he will make efforts to achieve new development of the relations between the two countries.
