South African President Jacob Zuma on Sunday morning visited former president Nelson Mandela in a Pretoria hospital, the presidency said in a statement. "The president found the frail 94-year-old Mandela to be comfortable and in good care," said the presidency.
However, the presidency did not offer other details about Mandela, including the medical test after entering the hospital.
On Saturday afternoon, the presidency announced that Mandela, who stayed at a mountainous village in the southern province of the Eastern Cape, was admitted to hospital in the administrative capital of Pretoria for the routine "medical attention."
"As said before, former president Mandela will receive medical attention from time to time which is consistent with his age," said the presidency in a statement.
It was the second time for Mandela to enter the hospital this year. In February, Mandela was admitted to hospital for a diagnostic procedure.
Mandela was born on July 18, 1918. During apartheid, he served 27 years in prison for the national liberation movement. As the apartheid system ended in 1994, he became the first democratically- elected president in South Africa.
