A Libyan court has on Monday decided to postpone the second session of the trial of al- Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmoudi, former prime minister under the rule of Muammar Gaddafi, to Jan. 14, 2013.
The trial was previously scheduled for Monday.
The court said that al-Baghdadi is facing charges of financial corruption and murder during Libya's unrest last year.
Taha Barra, a member of the public prosecution, told Xinhua that the reason behind the postponement is to listen to more witnesses during the next session.
"Al-Baghdadi is facing charges of financial corruptions, murder, and transferring about 6 million LYD (4.79 million U.S. dollars) to Tunisia to support Gaddafi's son, Saif Islam," Barra told Xinhua.
