Nigerian troops operating in northwest Kano State on Monday said a bomb exploded near a drinking parlor on Sunday.
The bomb was planted near the local drinking parlor, said spokesperson for the Joint Task Force (JTF), Capt. Ikedichi Iweha, adding nobody was injured.
According to him, it was a small can of Improvised Explosive Devise (IED), which was planted near a local drinking parlor in Badawa that exploded around 7:20 p.m., local time.
A Xinhua reporter in the state said members of the Joint Security Task-Force (JTF) had cordoned off the area.
Kano State is among the northern regions repeatedly hit by waves of violence. Last month, the JTF arrested 25 gunmen in an anti-crime crackdown.
