Presidency has denied any role in amending provisions of an election law. Spokesman Yasser Ali said the Presidency has nothing to do with discussions that are ongoing in the Shura Council over amending some provisions of a bill on the country's coming parliamentary elections.
The bill was submitted by the national dialogue committee that was held under the President of the Republic.
"President Mohamed Morsi has no interest in supporting any opinion concerning this bill," Ali said. He noted that only the Shura Council is competent to approve this draft law.
