Egypt sets the date of the retrial of ousted dictator Hosni Mubarak for April 13, state media say.
Mubarak, former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly and six top security chiefs, will be retried on orders of the Court of Cassation, Egypt’s top appeals court, over the killings of protesters during the 2011 revolution.
According to MENA official news agency, Mubarak’s sons Alaa and Gamal as well as fugitive businessman Hussein Salem would also be in the dock.
In June 2012, a life sentence was handed down to the former dictator for murders committed during the country’s historic revolution.
Egyptians launched a revolution against Mubarak’s regime in January 2011, which brought an end to over three decades of dictatorship by him in February 2011.
