The Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh on Tuesday congratulated Kenya's president-elect Uhuru Kenyatta.
In his message, the Djibouti president wished his Kenyan counterpart "success." He also expressed the desire to see Kenya continue with its development programs under Kenyatta's leadership.
"The fact that you were elected in the first round shows the faith that your fellow citizens have in your capacity to deliver," Guelleh noted.
He expressed the willingness of the Djibouti republic to continue promoting its partnership with Kenya, especially in the efforts aimed at bringing political stability and economic integration in the sub-region.
Kenya and Djibouti are both members of the Inter-Governmental Authority for Development (IGAD) which brings together eight countries from the Eastern Africa region.
