At least nine people were killed and four others went missing in floods caused by heavy rains that hit the Angolan capital of Luanda and its outskirts Saturday, the state news agency Angop reported Sunday.
Citing vice governor for technical matter of the provincial government of Luanda, Antonio Resende, the agency said the victims including adults and children were killed by collapsing of houses.
And the death and missing were reported in districts of Luanda, Samba and Kilamba Kiaxi. Special teams have been searching for the bodies of the missing, the official said.
Angola, in southern Africa, is the second largest oil producer in the continent.
