At least eight Egyptians have been injured in clashes between protesters and police during a rally to mark the founding of an opposition group.
On Saturday, the April 6 Youth Movement marked its 5th anniversary with nationwide anti-government protests.
Police fired teargas to disperse protesters outside a court in Cairo.
"Seven people were injured in Cairo in protests outside the Supreme Courthouse while one was injured in a protest at Al-Masala Square in Fayoum governorate (85 kilometer south of Cairo)," Yahya Moussa, the Egyptian Health Ministry spokesman, said, Xinhua reported.
The court in Cairo has launched investigations into opposition members.
Supporters of the April 6 Youth Movement also held demonstrations in other cities across the country.
The group is opposed to President Mohamed Morsi but supported him during last June's presidential vote.
The Egyptians launched the revolution against the pro-Israeli regime on January 25, 2011, which eventually brought an end to the 30-year dictatorship of Hosni Mubarak on February 11, 2011.
