Ghana's Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur on Friday called for more communications and cooperation between the ruling parties of Ghana and China.

Amissah-Arthur made the call when he met Huang Xianyao, head of the Communist Party of China (CPC) delegation, in the Presidency in the capital Accra.

"The relationship of two parties guides the relations of the two countries, and CPC has been very helpful to our party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), since it was established in 1990s," the vice president said.

As a young party, the NDC has been facing some challenges in the new era, he said, hoping to share the experience with the CPC in the fields of party building and training of party members.

Amissah-Arthur also extended appreciation to the Chinese government and people for the constant support to the West African country's development projects. "We hope Ghana can also achieve the great and rapid development like China, " he added.

The CPC delegation headed by Huang, member of the standing committee of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPC, arrived here from Liberia for a friendly exchange with major political parties in Ghana.

This is the first CPC delegation sent to West Africa after the 18th CPC National Congress held in November 2012.

"We wish to deepen the exchanges and understanding between the two parties through this visit, promoting the concrete cooperation and healthy development of the two countries," he noted.

Kwabena Adjei, national chairman of the ruling NDC, proposed that the two parties should widely share ideas and experience in governing their countries in the future.

"The visit will bring us closer that we can learn from each other, and also will be beneficial for the two countries and parties," he added.
