The Federation of Uganda Football Associations has secured an international friendly game for the national team Cranes with Libya ahead of a 2014 World Cup qualifier tie.
The regional Council for East and Central African Football Associations champions will face Libya away in Tripoli on June 1 as the two teams prepare for their games in the World Cup qualifier.
Mujib Kasule, the FA Vice President in-charge of the League and also member of the technical committee told Xinhua on Friday that the friendly with the North African team is set.
"We are only waiting for a reply from the Libya FA on a few things we have inquired about, but the game will be played," said Kasule.
He said the international friendly will be timely for the new Coach to test his players in a build-up game and also interact closely with them.
"We hope to name a new Coach by next week," disclosed Kasule.
Last month the Ugandan FA sacked Scotsman Robert 'Bobby' Williamson few days after the team had returned from Liberia where they lost 2-0.
The Cranes are bottom of their group which has Senegal in the lead, followed by Liberia who beat them last month. Angola is in third place.
The Cranes now need to win their home games against Liberia and Angola to revive their hopes of qualifying for the next round of the qualifiers.
