Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika held a two-hour meeting at a hospital in Paris, France, with Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and Army Chief of Staff Gaid Salah, local media reported.
The official APS news agency quoted Sellal late Tuesday as saying that "President Bouteflika responded very well and his health seemed fine," adding that "He gave us detailed instructions " related to the fasting month of Ramadan due on July, including granting supply of staple food to avoid prices soaring during this holly month.
On Tuesday, APS revealed a medical report signed by president's two accompanying doctors saying that Bouteflika "is observing a period of convalescence and functional rehabilitation to consolidate the favorable evolution of his health."
Bouteflika, 76, suffered a transient ischemic attack on April 27, was treated in the Val-de-Grace military hospital, and then transferred to the Institution des Invalides in Paris for convalescence and rehabilitation.
The president's minor stroke triggered debate in the country's political arena as some radical opponents have urged to hold an election for a new president, while the government has been assuring that the health condition of Bouteflika is improving and he is due to return home soon.
