Tunisia has extended the state of emergency for another three months, the official TAP press agency reported Monday quoting a statement of the presidency.
The decision was taken on the proposition of police and military officials and in concertation with Prime Minister Ali Laarayedh and Constituent Assembly Speaker Mustapha Ben Jaafar, according to the statement.
The state of emergency has been in force since January 2011, following the turmoil that led to the ouster of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
