At least one people was killed and 15 others injured on Sunday in clashes between loyalists of Egypt's ousted president Mohamed Morsi and residents in the governorates of Gharbiya and Port Said, state-run news agency MENA reported.
A 30-year-old Muslim Brotherhood member was killed by a penknife in the clashes that erupted at a graveyard in Kafr al- Zayyat city in Gharbiya, to the north of Cairo, when his group refused some local residents to attend a funeral procession of one of the victims of last night confrontations in Cairo.
Meanwhile, 15 people were injured in Port Said coastal governorate northeast to Cairo when a group of Morsi's supporters opened fire randomly at some opponents in the area around Al- Tawhid Mosque where they hold their pro-Morsi sit-in.
"All the injuries were from gunshots and cartouch, and one of the 15 victims is seriously injured by a live bullet in the chest, " MENA quoted a health ministry official as saying.
Port Said has been witnessing turmoil and riot since the funeral of one of its residents who was killed in recent clashes in Cairo over the deposed president.
Over the past two days, 81 people were killed and about 800 others injured in similar clashes in Cairo, Alexandria, Fayoum and other governorates, according to official reports.
However, medical reports from the field hospital at Rabia al- Adawiya Square in Cairo, where Morsi's supporters staged a massive open-ended sit-in since June 28, said at least 200 pro-Morsi protesters were killed and over 4,500 injured in Saturday's clashes with security forces.
The interior ministry and Morsi's Islamist supporters point fingers at each others over responsibility for the bloodshed.
