Slovenia has suspended all its charter flights to Egypt due to growing tensions in the African country where more than 500 people were killed in the authorities' crackdown on demonstrators.

Some 180 Slovenian people have given up their plan to fly to Egypt for holidays on Saturday, the Slovenian Press Agency quoted official sources at tour operator Kompas as saying.

The Slovenian Foreign Ministry has earlier advised against non-essential travels to Egypt in the wake of the mounting unrest in the country.

Egypt's security forces dispersed early this week two major sit-ins of ousted Islamist President Mohamed Morsi's supporters in Cairo and Giza. The dispersal operation and relevant clashes reportedly left at least 525 killed and about 3,717 injured nationwide.

Due to the social turmoil, the Egyptian interim government announced Wednesday a state of emergency for one month, and imposed a curfew in several governorates, including Cairo, Giza and Alexandria.
