Saudi Arabia's spymaster Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is planning to topple the Tunisian government following the ouster of former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.

The prince, along with ousted Tunisian dictator Zine El Abidine Ben Ali who is advising him, is planning to depose Tunisia’s ruling Ennahda Party in a similar military coup d’état which toppled the first democratically elected Egyptian head of state, Morsi, in early July and led to the death of over a thousand people.

Tunisia, the birthplace of pro-democracy protests across North Africa and the Middle East, is struggling with a democratic changeover after the overthrow of its Western-backed dictator.

Ben Ali and his wife fled to Saudi Arabia in January 2011 and the Saudi King Abdullah gave them refuge following popular uprising which ended his 23-year rule.

Meanwhile, in September this year, Essam el-Erian who is the deputy head of Freedom and Justice Party - the political arm of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood - said that the intelligence services of Israel and Saudi Arabia were involved in preparations for the July coup against Morsi.

He also said that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) provided the necessary funds for the removal of Morsi from power.
