A metro stop and a police station in the Egyptian capital of Cairo are targeted with explosions following a blast earlier in the day at the country’s police headquarters that killed at least four people and injured over 70 others.
The second Friday morning blast occurred at the el-Behooth metro station in the capital’s Tahrir Street, killing at least one person and injuring 15 more, early reports said.
The third blast occurred outside a police station in Talbeya neighbourhood of Giza, a large district on the outskirts of Cairo, but there were no immediate reports of casualties.
In the second explosion, the bomb was placed under a police vehicle near the metro stop, which is located in the Giza governorate, a security source said.
Eyewitnesses were cited as saying that the explosion caused a large number of injuries, among them police officers.
Meanwhile, Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood has condemned the attacks against security forces.
