At least a militant has been killed and several others are wounded in a Libyan airstrike that hit a militia post on the border with Tunisia.
The airstrike was carried out by pro-government forces near the Ras Jedir border crossing on Friday.
“One Libya Shield member was killed and between three and five were wounded,” said Hafedh Muammar, the spokesman for the militant group.
Libya Shield is one of the militant groups that seized the Libyan capital, Tripoli and much of the west in August, forcing the pro-government force to take refuge in the remote east.
Forces loyal to the government also have carried out a series of airstrikes in western Libya in recent days.
On Thursday, pro-government troops attacked a militia position in the south of Tripoli.
Libya plunged into chaos following the 2011 uprising that toppled longtime dictator Muammar Gaddafi. The ouster of Gaddafi gave rise to a patchwork of heavily-armed militias and deep political divisions.
The country has been witnessing numerous clashes between government forces and rival militia groups that refuse to lay down arms.
