Ahmed Abdi Kariye aka Qor Qor, has arrived in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, for an unspecified visit.

The president of Galmudug regional state, Ahmed Abdi Kariye aka Qor Qor, has arrived in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, for an unspecified visit.

This is Qor Qor’s first visit to Mogadishu since February this year when elections in the central state propelled him to the position of the region’s president.

Qor Qor is expected to hold talks with Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo on the upcoming second phase of the Dusamareb conference between the federal government and leaders of regional administrations.

The two leaders are also expected to discuss the appointment of a new prime minister for the country after parliament ousted Hassan Ali Kheyre from the position on 25 July.

Other reports however indicated that Qor Qor is on transit in Mogadishu and is headed to Turkey for treatment from an undisclosed ailment.
