The Islamic Movement of Nigeria, on Wednesday, expressed fresh fears for the life of its leader, Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, which it said was under threat.
According to the IMN, the regime of the President, Major General Muhamamadu Buhari (retd.), has tried desperately to have him dead.
The President, Academic Forum, IMN, Abdullahi Muhammad, said these in a statement titled: ‘Zaria massacre, unlawful detention and trumped-up charges: What’s next for the Buhari regime?’
According to him, the IMN does not have any trust in Buhari and his regime, adding, “We put moves against the sheikh under serious watch.”
Muhammad stated, “This regime has virtually done all it could to have His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Yaqoub El-Zakzaky dead, to say the least. Buhari and his cohorts have tried almost everything to get it done. Yet he is alive, merely standing and in need of proper medication in a medical facility with cutting-edge equipment, part of his human rights that the brutal regime continues to grossly violate.
“While the accomplices have been peddling lies so ridiculous that even the gullible have begun to have a sneaking suspicion, the real villain of the whole piece, Buhari, is in the driving seat calling the shots. No amount of untruth will cover up their wanton atrocities. “At this juncture, we would like to urge followers and sympathisers of the Sheikh to be alert to any threat to the life of our leader and react the same way we did when we came out en mass in the second week of January 2018, when the Sheikh was reported to have had a stroke in the custody of the Department of State Services.
“Despite the fact that Buhari gave orders for the massacre in Zaria, he has not relented in his bid to kill Sheikh El-Zakzaky, even while he is in his (Buhari’s) custody. He continues to deny him and his wife proper medical treatment.”
