The bomb attack marks the first Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) attack in Jigawa.
The Nigerian franchise of the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the bomb blast on Tuesday in Dutse, the capital of Nigeria’s northwestern state of Jigawa.
Earlier reports about the explosion said one person was injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in the evening around Hakimi Street.
In its communication claiming responsibility for the blast, the terror group claimed three fatalities were recorded.
The incident marks the first known attack by the terror group in Jigawa, which borders the northwest state of Kano and the northeastern state of Yobe.
