Kenya will promote sustainable development and advocate for poverty as well as inequality reduction globally.
The country will also be responsible for crafting measures that promote gender equality and women's empowerment.
President William Ruto's representative on the council will also work with other member states to develop and implement policies that protect the environment.
On the other hand, Kenya will promote human rights and fundamental freedoms worldwide.
ECOSOC is central to the United Nations efforts' towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.
The sustainable development goals are aimed at ending poverty, hunger, inequality and to protect the environment by 2030.
