The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines and Energy will tomorrow visit the Chiadzwa diamond fields in Marange to get an appreciation of mining operations there.
The committee, chaired by Guruve South House of Assembly Member Cde Edward Chindori-Chininga (Zanu-PF), will also conduct public hearings with the Marange community to get people’s views on pending relocations to pave way for full-scale explorations.
Cde Chindori-Chininga on Friday said: "We will tour Canadile Miners sorting warehouse in Mutare before proceeding to Chiadzwa where we will tour the Canadile plant and that of Mbada."
"In Mutare we will also meet the Provincial Governor and Resident Minister Christopher Mushowe and those Government officials responsible for relocations."
Board members for Canadile Miners and Mbada Holdings last week explained their operations to the committee at Parliament Building.
The two companies said they were ready to sell diamonds as they had complied with the Kimberly Process Certification Scheme.
In a related matter, the Portfolio Committee on Agriculture will tour Arda Estates.
