Egyptian lawmakers rejected the allegations made by Israeli regime that Syria is equipping Hezbollah with Scud missiles.
The lawmakers said that such baseless claims are going to prepare the ground for Israeli new war in the region to halt peace negotiations.
Referring to the meeting of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, an Egyptian lawmaker Mustapha Alawi said that resuming indirect peace talks between Israel and Palestinians is on the agenda for discussion.
Alawi told Al-Alam that the Israeli allegations on Hezbollah weaponry will be also discussed in details as the occupying regime has not presented any documents in this regard.
He said Egypt has severally announced its opposition against such claims, adding that Israel is exploiting such situation to re-launch a new war to avoid getting involved in resuming peace negotiations.
Alawi added that the Egyptian government has earlier sent a letter to US administration, clarifying its stance in this regards.
He said that the US has called on Israel to fulfill 13 demands for resumption of the negotiations which are including freeze of settlement expansion, release of a number of Palestinian prisoners as well as withdrawal from some part of occupied lands in West Bank.
He said that if Israeli regime surrenders to such requested demands, then it will make the next round of negotiations different from the previous rounds.
