The Zambia national soccer team coach George Lwandamina has been fired due to the country's failure to qualify for the African Nations Championship finals scheduled for Sudan next year.
Lwandamina’s assistants Lucky Msiska and Wedson Nyirenda will head the country's under-23 national soccer team ahead of the 2012 London Olympics.
Lwandamina will however, be deployed to the technical department of the Zambia FA, according to the Communications Officer of the FA Erick Mwanza.
Zambia failed to qualify for Sudan 2011 following the 1-1 draw with South Africa at Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium on Saturday.
South Africa qualified for the finals 2-1 on aggregate, having won the first leg 1-0 in Johannesburg.
