The weekend was a busy one across the African continent as football took centre stage in some of the major capitals. The issue was the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers. Some of the big names in the continent distinguished themselves and took pole positions in their quest to be present in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, the co-host for the ORANGE CAF Cup 2012.
These included; Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Zambia and Nigeria.
Others were lackluster in their performance, with the hope to see them improve as the eliminatories progress - Tunisia, Angola, Morocco and Algeria.
