Ghana and Olympic Marseille midfielder Andre Ayew has thrown his weight behind Marcel Desailly to fill up the vacant coaching position of the Black Stars. The youngster said the former Chelsea defender has a lot to offer the West African nation.
“I do not know if Marcel Desailly will get this job because there are many contenders, but I talked to people and I know his name is mentioned,” Ayew was quoted as saying by Ghanasoccernet.
“He is someone who is very experienced, he knows many football players, I think he can bring a lot to Ghana.
“He will have my full support if it is him who is chosen to coach the team and anyway I will support any coach who is chosen to lead my country. This is my country and my pride.”
Ayew, whose father played with Desailly at Marseille added, “I don’t how things will go but I can tell you that in Ghana things go very fast.”
