The president of Somalia Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has welcomed the resignation of the Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Sharmarke, who stepped down from the Transitional Federal Government earlier on Tuesday, according to Xanano.
Sharif thanked those who triggered Sharmake’s resignation, saying the move will end the long running of political turmoil between the two top bosses of the government.
Sharif said he would appoint a new Prime Minister in a few day and hopes his successor will play a pivot role to resolve conflict in the beleaguered country.
Sharmake is the third Prime Minister to have resigned in Somalia.
