The Al-Qaeda linked group in Somalia Al-shabaab has arrested 11 men in the regions of Baay and Bakol in Southern part of Somalia, according to VOA. Those arrested include businessmen and elders of the community.
Though insurgent fighters have not given reasons behind the arrest, some sources say the men have been suspected of having links with the Interim Federal Government of Somalia, which the Islamists are fighting against for control of the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
The two regions are neighbours. Bakol shares its borders with Ethiopia.
