Residents in Warsheekh told Garowe online that the skiffs reached on Friday in that region while their crews were jailed by the Somali insurgent group, Al-Shabaab on Saturday.

A report says helicopters in Warsheekh were seen for the past of two days after they fired on it.

"We heard heavy blast in coastal part of Somalia in midnight, in the morning the skiffs were not there, we only saw some parts of the boats own by pirates who were arrested by Al-Shabaab," witness said.

"We were terrified by last night's event, it never happened," noted Mohammed Cosoble, another resident.

However, no official confirmation from al-shabaab administration and officials of TFG regarding the attack reportedly carried out by the naval aircraft.

The attack was the third one that erupted in the region. On 26 September, a warships helicopter stationed off Somalia's coast attacked a house where affiliates of the insurgent group, Al-Shabaab were meeting in Marka, Lower Shabelle Region,

And on Sept last year, an American Aircraft killed a senior Al-Shabaab leader linked to Al-Qaeda, Salah Ali Nabhan.
