The South African Football Association President Kirsten Nematandani has congratulated Bafana Bafana for a hard fought draw against Sierra Leone on Sunday.
Nematandani also expressed regret after the SABC could not televise the African Cup of Nations match between South Africa and Sierra Leone in the capital Freetown.
“We are happy with the results that our team has achieved, but at the same time disappointed that the football loving South Africans were unable to watch the gallant efforts of our boys on television when they played to a goalless draw with Sierra Leone.
"It is a regrettable inconvenience and the South African Football Association will stop at nothing to ensure that we don't experience a similar fate in future," said Nematandani.
"South Africans always look forward to seeing Bafana Bafana in action; it gets even more desperate when the team plays away from home. We can't afford to disappoint millions of passionate Bafana supporters; and as result we need to meet the SABC and find a solution because we have a series of away fixtures in our calendar;” said Nematandani.
Bafana Bafana remains top of the group with four points after a goalless draw with Sierra Leone in Freetown.
Coach Pitso Mosimane's men won their opening fixture of the African Cup of Nations by beating Niger 2-0 at the Mbombela stadium in Nelspruit last month.
