Today, the opposition parties under IPC (inter-party cooperation ) headed by IPC flag bearer for the 2011general elections have stormed the Electoral Commission headquarters in Kampala to task the Head of the commission upon the preparations of A clean voter’s register ahead as a major perquisite to a free and fair election let come 2011.

This has came at a time when the country is holding players with the head of religious leaders in the country at Kololo airstrip calling for a peaceful free and fair election ahead of 2011 arguing all Ugandans to pray for this matter. Present at the function was the Inspector general of the police of the Republic of Uganda who pointed out the opposition being a greater obstacle towards this agenda.

Representing other parties on the function, aspiring candidate for the presidency Dr. ABBEDI BWANIIKA tasked the head of the electoral commission to produce an updated clean voter’s register which is a perquisite to a free and fair election let come 2011 not to just pray to GOD. Quoted, “Eng. BADRU KIGGUNDU let us do what we can do other than praying to GOD because the clean voter’s register will not come from heaven” We are now close to nominations for presidency yet the voter’s register up to now is still not out to the public.

Meanwhile, all roads heading to the electoral commission remained closed from morning till evening for fear that opposition supporters may storm the EC head offices due to the morning scuffle with the FDC president and the IPC flag bearer Dr. KIIZA BESIGYE at the headquarter.
