The Mo Ibrahim Foundation is to host a major celebration of Africa in the island nation of Mauritius. Mauritius has ranked first in the Ibrahim Index of African Governance every year since it was launched four years ago.
Several hundred guests from the worlds of public policy, business, academia, civil society and the media will come together to watch speeches from eminent Africans such as Mo Ibrahim, 2007 Laureate Joaquim Chissano, 2008 Laureate Festus Mogae, and performances from Grammy award-winners Youssou N’Dour and Angelique Kidjo.
On Sunday 21 November the Mo Ibrahim Foundation will host a Regional Economic Integration Forum with leading Africans to discuss progress towards, and the current challenges facing, the regional economic integration of Africa.
Key members of African civil society, the private sector and government - as well as members of the international community will come together to discuss how this agenda can be advanced, according to a media release from the foundation.
