Ghana midfield general 'ambassador' Michael Essien said he is contemplating what to do with his life after retirement. However, he was categorically clear that the last thing he would consider is a career in politics and the thought has never crossed his mind.
“No, no, the last thing I would do is politics. I hate politics,” the 27-year-old told Chelseafc.com when he came to Ghana this week to launch a charity project in his home town.
“I know some big men who are in politics, but I would never get involved in politics myself.”
The Black Stars prodigy added, “But that is something I have been thinking about, what I will do once I hang up my boots.
“At the moment I feel I will go back to the Michael Essien foundation and have a full time job with that. I want to help the kids become somebody in the future.
“It would all be for the foundation. I only want to focus on helping others when I hang up my boots. That’s what I want to do.”
Essien was accompanied by his national team mate Sulley Muntari of Inter.
